TaalGyan is a vision to popularise the popular Indian percussion instrument, Tabla. It began as a response to the unavailability of content for those who aspire to learn it or further their skills. Our aim at TaalGyan is to provide a platform for learning and exploring Hindustani Classical Music and especially Tabla.
This website is not a replacement to the depth and authenticity of learning a Guruji can provide. Our aim is to reach out to people who, for whatever reason, cannot afford to go to a Guruji. People who are already in the process of learning tabla would find this website helpful as a resource of compositions and important theoretical concepts.

Prabhakar in Tabla from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad and an undergrad student at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus, pursuing a degree in Computer Science. TaalGyan was his brainchild and an embodiment of his passion for technology and music alike. The drive to further the art of Tabla and Hindustani Classical Music led him to build this site.
He is extremely grateful to his Guruji Gurmeet Singh Ji who has enabled him in every way to help spread the magic of tabla and Indian classical music.
